Threaded Together
Learning and friendship intertwined
Threaded Together is our friendly community sewing group, bringing people together to learn new skills, share ideas and enjoy a good blether along the way!
Our six-week courses are open to everyone, from complete beginners to those who already have some sewing experience.
A big part of Threaded Together is learning how to make the most of what we already have. Rather than throwing clothes and fabrics away, we explore how to mend, repair, alter and upcycle them, giving unwanted materials a new lease of life.
By learning these practical skills, we hope to help people save money, reduce textile waste and feel more confident tackling their own sewing projects.
But Threaded Together is about much more than sewing. It's also about bringing people together, building friendships and creating a welcoming space where everyone can learn from one another.
We believe that cost shouldn't prevent anyone from joining us. We hope to provide a small number of funded places on each course, helping those who might otherwise find it difficult to take part.

Meet our Tutor, Rachel
Rachel's love of sewing began at a very young age when she was taught by her Grandma, Ruth Black. What started as a childhood skill has grown into a lifelong passion.
A keen kilt and dressmaker, Rachel is also passionate about upcycling and finding creative ways to give unwanted clothing and fabrics a new lease of life.
Through Threaded Together, Rachel enjoys sharing her knowledge and encouraging others to discover what they can achieve, whether they're threading a sewing machine for the very first time or developing skills they already have.
