Scran Sorted

Cook well. Spend less. Eat better.

Coming soon – subject to funding

Scran Sorted is an exciting new project we're hoping to launch in 2027, helping teenagers across Inverness, particularly those in the Merkinch area, develop practical cooking skills that will last a lifetime.

Our aim is simple: to give young people the confidence to cook tasty, nutritious meals without spending a fortune.

Through our six-week courses, teenagers will learn how to prepare and cook everyday meals, shop on a budget, make the most of ingredients and reduce food waste.

Each young person will have their own cooking station, with opportunities to work together, try new foods and enjoy the meals they've prepared.

But Scran Sorted is about more than cooking. It's about building confidence, encouraging independence, making friendships and giving young people skills they can take into adult life.

We also hope to provide food when the young people arrive and, where possible, give them the opportunity to prepare extra portions to take home for the weekend.

Working alongside local schools, Planet Youth and other community partners, we aim to reach young people who would particularly benefit from this opportunity.
